Renewable energy continues to hold a central place in Armenia’s agenda for energy independence and sustainable development. In particular, the growing momentum in the solar energy sector in recent years reflects not only technological progress but also a shift towards more strategic thinking. Leading companies in the field are joining forces, signing a memorandum that signals their intention to cooperate.
Stigen, Suncity, and Ecoville have initiated a new format of collaboration by establishing an Energy Transition Alliance. This platform aims to consolidate the efforts of the private sector, the state, and international partners in order to accelerate Armenia’s transition to renewable energy.
Solar capacity installed in the country has already seen significant growth, even surpassing the capacity of the nuclear power plant. In 2025, solar power plants accounted for 16.3% of Armenia’s total electricity generation. However, experts emphasize that unlocking the full potential of the sector will require continued, coordinated development.
Ecoville has also recently introduced a new product: energy storage systems manufactured in Armenia, designed for both residential and industrial use. The goal is not only to meet domestic demand but also to enter international markets under an Armenian brand.
The emerging cooperation in the renewable energy sector could become a key driver in accelerating Armenia’s energy transition—delivering not only technological progress, but also economic and strategic advancement.
