To increase public awareness and understanding of COP17, including its purpose, goals, and significance, with a focus on the importance of green energy transition, the role of eco-innovation in sustainable solutions, and the principles of sustainable use and restoration of energy and natural resources for preserving ecological balance, while empowering participants to actively engage in or support policies and practices that promote sustainable, nature-based solutions.

This course, designed by ECTI scholars who have completed a Training of Trainers (TOT) organized by the UCL Bartlett School of Environment, Energy, and Resources, aims to provide participants with a clear understanding of COP17’s purpose, agenda, and significance. It will enable participants to analyze how energy and innovation policies affect ecosystems, and to identify practical solutions and local actions that contribute to sustainable development initiatives.
By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to describe key COP17 issues, including green energy transition, eco-innovation, sustainable resource use and restoration. They will recognize the value of participatory engagement in global environmental governance and feel motivated to actively contribute to sustainable development initiatives.
